According to General Ali Nur Mad Idris, the commander of the 45th Unit of the 8th Brigade of the 60th Division of the SNA, the operation was planned and executed on Tuesday, November 28, 2023. He said that the SNA troops cleared several villages and towns from the Khawarij, who were using them as bases to attack civilians and government forces.

The SNA commander named some of the areas that were liberated as Eel Dhuun Adeegow, Shaanto, Eel Mareere, Garas Habad and Oosle in Bay region, and Eel Shariif, Bala’bala Warta, Doolar and Adeegow in Bakool region. He added that the SNA also destroyed several hideouts and weapons caches of the Khawarij, and freed many people who were living under their oppression.

The operation was part of the ongoing efforts by the SNA and the federal government of Somalia to restore peace and stability in the country, which has been plagued by violence and terrorism for decades. The SNA commander praised the bravery and professionalism of his soldiers, and vowed to continue the fight against the Khawarij until they are eliminated from the country.
