Somali Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Amb. Ahmed Maalim Fiqi, along with the Minister of Trade and Industry, MP Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi, represented Somalia at the third session of the Forum for Cooperation and Economy of Arab Countries, Central Asian Countries, and Azerbaijan held in Doha, Qatar.
The forum, which serves as a platform to discuss and enhance economic cooperation among Arab nations, saw Minister Fiqi deliver a comprehensive speech addressing multiple critical issues. He highlighted Somalia’s progress in the ongoing conflict against the Khawarij and raised concerns over Ethiopia’s maritime claims, which Somalia views as an infringement on its territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
Furthermore, Minister Fiqi emphasized the importance of a unified stance on the Palestinian cause, urging for collective action and support.
The forum also focused on economic collaboration, with Minister Fiqi underscoring the event’s role in fostering trade relations, economic partnerships, and sharing investment opportunities to combat unemployment and stimulate growth.
