Mogadishu(SONNA)-Minister of Foreign Affairs of Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Mohamed Abdirisak Mohamud on Sunday received Chinese Ambassador to Somalia in the capital, and discussed areas on enhancing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, SONNA reported.
Mr. Mahamud thanked China for its long-term support and assistance to the government and people of Somalia, saying that the friendship between China and Somalia has a long history and the friendship between the two countries is deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
“Somalia is willing to work with China to promote the continuous development of bilateral relations”, Somali foreign Minister, Mohamed Abdirisak Mohamud said during the meeting with Chinese envoy.
Chinese Ambassador Qin Jian thanked Somalia for its support and appreciated the achievements in peace and reconstruction of Somalia.
He said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Somalia, friendly cooperation in various fields has made great progress.
“China firmly supports the peaceful development of Somalia and is willing to work hand in hand with Somalia to contribute to the development of bilateral relations”, Mr. Qin stated.
Such meeting comes as Somalia expects the Sinopharm vaccine that will help Somalia in finding solution to the fight against COVID-19 pandemic that will arrive soon according to the Government and diplomatic sources.
