Somali National Army and its international allies have carried out successful raids against the Khawarij Al-Shabaab positions in lower Shabelle.

According to the state news agency SONNA, the operations took place in the Lower Shabelle and Mudug regions, where several Khawarij leaders and fighters were killed.

In the Lower Shabelle region, two notorious Khawarij commanders, Umarani Mohamed Malaq and Sabir, were eliminated in an operation in Nuun-Garre area under Awdheegle district. Malaq was the leader of Barire area and Sabir was in charge of extorting and harassing the local farmers.

In the Mudug region, seven Khawarij militants were killed in an operation that targeted a Khawarij hideout on the outskirts of Aad. The operation was conducted in cooperation with the international partners of Somalia, who have been providing military and logistical support to the Somali forces.

The government of Somalia has vowed to continue the fight against the Khawarij, who have been waging a violent insurgency against the federal and regional authorities. The Khawarij have also been responsible for numerous attacks on civilians, and government positions.

The Somali forces and their allies have made significant gains against the Khawarij in recent months, liberating several towns and villages from their control and disrupting their supply lines and communication networks.
