Kampala, Uganda – The Somali Embassy in Uganda took part in an international cultural competition in a vibrant display of cultural pride, engaging students from 20 different nations, including Somali scholars enrolled in local universities.
The event, which saw participation from Somali students of Cavendish University Uganda, was a celebration of the rich traditions and customs of Somalia. The students took this opportunity to introduce the diverse and flavorful Somali cuisine, a cornerstone of their cultural heritage, to an international audience.
Liban Hussein, the Education Attaché at the Somali Embassy, emphasized the significance of the event as a platform for promoting Somali culture globally. “This initiative is not just about competition; it’s a chance to share the essence of Somali culture with the world,” Hussein remarked.
The cultural competition serves as a reminder of the importance of cultural exchange in fostering understanding and unity among different peoples. It also highlights the role of educational institutions and diplomatic missions in bridging cultural divides.
