Mogadishu, SONNA)-: The Somali Cabinet held a showcase event on Tuesday evening at the National Theater to present their achievements. HE. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud was the keynote speaker and commended the government’s efforts in tackling challenges such as terrorism, drought, and security issues.
The President emphasized the need to liberate the country from Al-Shabaab terrorists and implement the development plans and aspirations of the Somali people. He also praised the Cabinet for passing important laws and urged them to complete the constitution draft as soon as possible. The President promised to continue informing the public about the work being done by the government.
During the showcase event, Defense Minister Abdiqadir Mohamed Nur stated that 3,000 Al-Shabaab terrorists lost their lives while around 4,000 were injured in the first phase of military operations against terrorists.
Also, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Corporation, Abshir Omar Jama spoke at the showcase event stating that ‘Our foreign policy is neutral, and we aim to maintain positive relationships with all nations.’
The event highlighted the achievements of the cabinet, and Prime Minister HE Hamza Abdi Barre said, “The government will have a culture where positions are seen as responsibilities, not places to be respected. Accountability does not end in this forum.”
