Somali Cabinet passes the bill of strengthening and transparency of the country’s financial management

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Council of Ministers passed the Bill on Strengthening the Transparency of the Country’s Financial Management, which contains 8 articles based on the management of the country’s general finances, including the management of the country’s income, the purchase and the national contract, the management of the national general property, and the administration and management of government staff.

The Prime Minister of Somalia, H.E Hamza Abdi Barre, who presided over the meeting of the Cabinet, indicated that this resolution is important for the protection of public property, the fight against corruption and that the national property is managed efficiently and serves the public interest.

The meeting also passed the Civil Service Retirement Bill and the Civil Service Retirement Policy.

This law, which protects the rights of retired government employees and those who are harmed while performing their national duties, was submitted by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs.

Also, the meeting of the Ministers approved a Memorandum of Understanding in the areas of Health and Employment between Somalia and Qatar and the National Youth Policy prepared by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
