MOGADISHU, SOMALIA – The Federal Republic of Somalia’s Council of Ministers convened this week to address the ongoing operations against the Khawarij, also known as Al-Shabaab, and their impact on national security.
Chaired by Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, the cabinet meeting highlighted the successes of the Somali security forces in their war against these terror groups. The forces’ efforts have been crucial in protecting the Somali people from the devastation wrought by the Khawarij.
Additionally, the council reviewed the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development’s 2023 annual report, which detailed the accomplishments of the 9th National Development Plan. The report reflects the government’s dedication to economic development and the eradication of terror threats.
