Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army’s Danab Unit and International Partners on Saturday killed several Al-Shabaab militants and injured others after conducting a joint operation at Qob-Yaxaas location in Hiiraan region.
Deputy Minister of Information, Abdirahman Yusuf Al-adala told the Somali National News Agency SONNA that the forces destroyed terrorists’ base in the area during the operation.
“Our forces took swift action against Al-Shabaab terrorists who were holding a meeting in the area at time of the operation. We killed several Khawarij fighters, We are committed to destroying the terrorist network in this region and throughout the country”, Adala said.
The operation comes as the Government plans to finalize the first phase of the offensive operation in areas under Galmudug and Hirshabelle States.
