Mogadishu, Somalia – The National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) and the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) have initiated a new phase of strategic collaboration following a high-level meeting at SoDMA headquarters. The discussions were aimed at reinforcing joint efforts in humanitarian aid and security.
The meeting was hosted by SoDMA’s Commissioner, Mr. Mohamud Moallin Abdulle, who welcomed a distinguished delegation led by Somalia’s Ambassador to the IMCTC, General Tuuryare. The delegation included the Director-General of the Ministry of Defense, Dr. Abdinafic, and Colonel Abdifatah Sayid from the Office of National Security at the Presidential Palace.
The dialogue focused on the specific areas of humanitarian response and counter-terrorism, recognizing the interconnected nature of these fields in building a secure and stable nation. The parties explored how sustained cooperation could lead to effective solutions for the challenges facing the country.
In a statement, Commissioner Abdulle said the collaboration will contribute to the agency’s capacity to address emergencies and support the Somali people. This partnership reflects the government’s comprehensive security agenda, which coordinates national institutions with key international allies to address shared priorities.
