Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali National Armed Forces stationed at Raskamboni, the State of Jubbaland are continuing their security operations against the Al-Shabaab terrorists and are making final preparations of taking over from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) as it comes to an end on 31st December 2024.
So far, the National Army have taken over 21 bases in Hirshabelle, Southwest, and Jubbaland from ATMIS.
From January 2025, Somalia-led AU mission (AUSSOM) will officially begin, paving the way for the Somali National Army to fully take over the country’s security responsibilities.
