Mogadishu (SONNA) – The Somali National Army (SNA) has conducted a mine-clearing operation on the roads leading to Awdheegle district in the Lower Shabelle region.
The operation was carried out between Shamgare, a smaller part of Jowhar, Mubarak, and Awdheegle districts in the Lower Shabelle region.
The operation was led by the commander of the 17th Battalion Gorgor Commandos col. Dayah Abdi Abdulle said they had removed several landmines, and that troops had also detonated other landmines planted by terrorist militants on public roads.
