Mogadishu (SONNA): Recent reports from areas in Mudug and Galgaduud regions indicate that there is a widespread drought that has caused the death of 6 people due to hunger and thirst in southern Galmudug, SONNA reported.
Ahmed Mohamed Shire Qodaar, the deputy governor of Galmudug region, told SONNA that six people died due to the widespread severe drought.
The Galmudug administration is currently working on providing water trucks in effort to help those affected by the severe drought in Mudug and Galgadud regions.
Recently, Prime Minister of Somalia H.E Mohamed Hussein Roble has urged
civil society groups, calling them for immediate assistance to those affected by the drought.
