Mogadishu, SONNA — The Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, participated in a ceremony today to officially hand over responsibilities from the former Commissioner of the Somali Police, Gen. Sulub Ahmed Firin, to the newly appointed Commissioner, Gen. Asad Osman Abdullahi.
During the event, Prime Minister Hamza expressed his gratitude to the former Chief for his dedicated leadership and contributions during his tenure. He emphasized the importance of continuity in the essential functions of the police force and urged the new Commissioner to prioritize efforts aimed at enhancing security and safety across the country.
“The Somali Police are the backbone of the government,” Hamza stated. “It is crucial that they uphold their responsibilities and maintain the trust of the community.” He called on the police to be vigilant and committed to their duties, reinforcing their role in ensuring public safety and stability.
