Mogadishu, SONNA – In a significant diplomatic engagement, Somalia’s Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre, received Alper Aktaş, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Somalia, in his office. The meeting underscored the deep-rooted fraternity and cooperation between the two nations.

Prime Minister Barre extended his congratulations to Ambassador Aktaş on his new role, emphasizing Turkey’s role as a steadfast ally to Somalia. He highlighted Turkey’s consistent support through Somalia’s tumultuous periods, contributing significantly to various development projects within the country.

Ambassador Aktaş reciprocated the sentiments, assuring his dedication to further fortify the brotherly relationship. He expressed his appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by the Somali government and its people.

The discussions between Prime Minister Barre and Ambassador Aktaş focused on avenues to enhance the bilateral relations and cooperation across multiple sectors. This meeting marks a continuation of the strong alliance and mutual support that has been a hallmark of the Somalia-Turkey relationship.
