Mako Mohamud Muse, the adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia on controlling the flow of illegal weapons in Somalia, welcomed the Cabinet’s approval of the Somalia Arms Bill. In her statement, she emphasized the importance of this law in regulating illegal weapons and ensuring that only government agencies have control over the country’s power.

Ms. Muse also stated that the government of President Hassan Sheikh is determined to remove illegal weapons from the entire country to prevent acts of insecurity and lift the embargo on weapons in Somalia. This move is part of a broader effort by the government to improve security and safety for all citizens.

The approval of this bill sends a strong message that the government, with Ms. Muse’s guidance, is committed to taking concrete steps towards achieving these goals. Ms. Muse’s support for this decision demonstrates her dedication to improving security in Somalia and her commitment to working towards a safer and more secure future for all Somalis.
