Mogadishu (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has officially concluded the 5th Congress of Leadership and Innovation of Somali Youth. The two-day event, held in Mogadishu, brought together young people from the capital and various regions of the country.
In his closing speech, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud praised the Somali youth for their enthusiasm and potential. He also addressed the general situation of the country and the upcoming elections, emphasizing that there will be no withdrawal from holding elections by the people and votes, which are set to begin in mid-2025.
“We have been in indirect elections for 24 years, and we will not withdraw from going to elections with people and votes,” stated President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud at the forum.
The conference highlighted the importance of youth leadership and innovation in shaping Somalia’s future, and the President’s commitment to ensuring democratic processes and active participation of the youth in the nation’s development.
