Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, and the entire Somali nation following the passing of Traditional Elder Farah Abdi Waare, former President of Hirshabelle State’s brother, who passed away in Mogadishu.
President Hassan Sheikh described the late Elder as a pivotal figure in Somali society, who played a significant role in promoting peace and unity. Elder Farah Abdi Waare was recognized as a traditional leader and a cornerstone in Somalia’s state-building efforts, particularly in fostering reconciliation and cohesion among communities.
“Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. May Allah have mercy on Elder Farah Abdi Waare, who was a leader in peacebuilding and Somali cultural preservation. He contributed greatly to state-building, reconciliation, and the pursuit of peace for the Somali people.”
The President prayed for Allah to grant the late Elder a place in Jannatul Firdaws and to give patience and faith to his family and the Somali people during this time of loss.
