(SONNA, November 16, 2023) The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, held a meeting with military officers and commanders to discuss the country’s security situation.
The President received a report from the Somali National Army Command about the first phase of the liberation operation and noted that the implementation of the short-term plan will lead to victories awaited by the Somali people in eradicating the Khawarij.
President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud commended the selflessness of the Somali forces who are committed to liberating areas still under the control of terrorists. He mentioned that the mobilization of public forces will significantly contribute to the struggle.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, the Commander of the Somali National Army, General Ibrahim Sheikh Muhayadin, and the Commander of the Somali Police Force, Brigadier General Sulub Ahmed Firin.
