Cairo, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud who is currently on an official visit to Egypt, held a meeting with the Chairman of the Arab Parliament, Mr. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Yamahi.
During the meeting, President Mohamud expressed Somalia’s deep appreciation for the Arab Parliament’s unwavering support in promoting the country’s sovereignty, unity, and state-building efforts. He commended the institution for championing Somalia’s cause on both regional and international platforms.
The President also reaffirmed Somalia’s commitment to enhancing collaboration with the Arab Parliament, emphasizing the importance of knowledge exchange and aligning collective decisions on Arab-world issues with international priorities.
For his part, Chairman Al-Yamahi praised the cooperative relationship between Somalia and Arab nations in addressing shared challenges and advancing Arab solidarity. He lauded President Mohamud’s strategic vision, particularly regarding Somalia’s upcoming elections, counterterrorism efforts, and the liberation of areas still under militant control.
This high-level meeting underscores the growing partnership between Somalia and the Arab Parliament, aimed at fostering greater unity and coordinated action across the Arab world.
