Mogadishu, Somalia – The new Kenyan ambassador to Somalia, Cyprian Kubai Iringo, presented his credentials to the Somali president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, on sunday at the presidential palace in Mogadishu.
Ambassador Iringo conveyed the greetings and message of goodwill from the Kenyan president, William Ruto, to his Somali counterpart and the Somali people. He also expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and pledged to work towards enhancing the bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries.
President Mohamud congratulated Iringo on his appointment and wished him success in his diplomatic mission. He also stressed the importance of Somalia and Kenya’s joint cooperation in the areas of security, trade, development, and regional stability.
The two countries share a long border and a common history, culture, and interest in the peace and prosperity of the Horn of Africa region. They also face the common threat of the militant group Al-Shabab, which has carried out attacks in both countries.
