Dhusamareeb (SONNA): In a decisive joint effort, the National Army, supported by local community forces, has successfully recaptured the strategic town of Wabxo in Galgaduud Region. The Deputy Minister of Information for the Federal Government, Mr. Abdiraxmaan Yusuf Al-Adaala, has confirmed that the collaboration between military and local residents has effectively driven out the extremist group, which had posed a serious threat to the region.

The recapture of Wabxo holds immense significance, as Deputy Minister Al-Adaala emphasized that the swift military action averted further destabilization caused by the extremist group. Security operations are currently underway in Wabxo to ensure the safety of its residents, including the removal of mines and other hazards.

Furthermore, the National Army and local forces have extended their operations to nearby areas, including Jaaw, Daadaale, Gal qoryaale, Bidda Isse, and more. This coordinated approach is aimed at countering potential threats and establishing lasting security throughout the region.

Facing strong resistance from the combined forces approximately 8 kilometers outside of Wabxo, the Khawaarij group Al-Shabaab attempted to defend their control over the town. However, their efforts were in vain, resulting in their defeat.

This successful liberation of Wabxo underscores the unity between the National Army and the local community in safeguarding their region against extremist threats. The situation is under close monitoring to ensure enduring security and stability in the area.

Stay tuned for further updates on the ongoing security operations.
