The discussion focused on the impact of drought on Somali farmers, the Somali government’s efforts to complete debt relief, lifting the 32-year-old arms embargo, and the OIC’s full support for Somalia’s bid to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.

“We had a fruitful discussion on key humanitarian issues, including drought’s impact on Somali farmers, debt relief, lifting arms embargo & OIC’s full support for Somalia’s UN Security Council bid.” Somali Foreign Affairs Minister, Abshir Omar Jama (posted on Facebook)
