Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Governor of Banaadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), officially launched the intermediate-level national examinations today, with a total of 41,639 students sitting for the exams across the region.
This marks the sixth consecutive year that the Banaadir Regional Administration has independently conducted the standardized exams, a milestone reflecting growing administrative capacity and commitment to educational progress.
In his remarks, Mayor Muungaab reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to improving both the quality and accessibility of education in Banaadir. He pledged to increase investment in free education and expand learning opportunities for all students. He also wished success to the candidates taking the national exam and praised their perseverance.
The Mayor extended special congratulations to the parents and guardians who have supported their children’s educational journey. He also commended the security forces ensuring the safety and integrity of examination centers.
The opening ceremony was attended by senior regional officials, including the Deputy Governor for Security and Politics, Mohamed Ahmed Diriye (Yabooh), the Commander of Banaadir Police Division, education officers overseeing the examinations, and other key members of the Banaadir Regional Administration.
