Joint forces seize terrorist strong-holds, recover weapons

Mogadishu(SONNA)-Somali National Army’s Danab Unit backed by Galmudug State forces have taken control of terrorist strong-holds and recovered weapons after pursuing operation against Al-Shabaab militants hiding south and east Qaycad area in Mudug region on Mondday morning, SONNA reported.

The joint forces recovered about 20 guns, communication equipment and other materials when the terrorist militants lost control of those areas and run away according to the Ministry of Internal Security of Galmudug State.

The International Partners backing our forces carried out airstrike at terrorist bases in the area yesterday, destroyed a large al-Shabaab firing position engaging Danab and SNA forces as they approached.

“These operations limit Al Shabaab’s ability to kill and terrorize the Somali people” said a statement released by the Somali Ministry of Information after the airstrike yeterday.
