Israeli tank fire on north Gaza school kills 7; Beirut bombed again

Israeli tanks have bombed a school-turned-shelter in northern Gaza’s Beit Lahiya, killing at least seven Palestinians, the Wafa news agency reports.

The attack comes as Palestinians fleeing Beit Lahiya say they saw bodies lying in the streets and Israeli soldiers detaining and beating men.

Footage verified by Al Jazeera shows huge explosions and fires burning in Beirut’s southern suburbs as Israel launched attacks on the area.

In Gaza, at least 42,718 people have been killed and 100,282 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 7, 2023. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, and more than 200 were taken captive.
