Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E Ahmed Moalim Fiqi today held a consultative meeting with the traditional elders and community leaders of Awdal.
“Ethiopia always had intentions to cross over Somalia’s territory. They have always been after Zayla but the people of Somalia have always defended their territory from such intentions, and we will continue to do so,” the Minister said.
During the discussion, various traditional elders and community leaders of Awdal expressed their condemnation of Ethiopia’s intentions towards Awdal, affirming that the people of Awdal are ready to fight to protect their land.
Also in attendance, Senator Deqa H. Hussein who leads the Internal Affairs Committee of the Upper House of Representatives and Senator Bilal Idris Abdullahi discussed the bad intentions of Ethiopia.
The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ahmed Moallim Fiqi explained that as is with Somali culture, the Ministry intends to consult with the traditional elders and community leaders of our society in dealing with issues such as this.
