Mogadishu(SONNA)-Hirshabelle State Parliament is expected to hold the elections of the seats of the Somalia’s Upper House of the Federal Parliament from the state in Jowhar town, the administrative capital of Hirshabelle State today on Monday, SONNA reported.
The candidates for the seats are now delivering speeches before the parliament.
There are heavy presence of armed forces inside and outside the town, in order to ensure elections happen peacefully.
Last week, Hirshabelle State President, Ali Abdullahi Hussein released the list of the candidates running for the seats while the regional electoral team also displayed the election schedule.
The election procedure started Thursday, and will be finalized today.
