Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The President of Hirshabelle State of Somalia, H.E. Ali Abdullahi Hussein (Cali Guudlaawe), who is leading efforts to eliminate Al-Shabaab, visited the frontlines today, inspecting military positions in Qurac-Madoobe, War-Ciise, and Aqab-Duco to assess the progress of ongoing operations.
During his visit, senior commanders of the Somali National Army and local forces briefed the president on the latest offensives targeting fleeing Al-Shabaab militants.
“Hirshabelle is not a haven for terrorists. This is why we are all engaged in this fight—because this region represents the hope of the Somali people to defeat Al-Shabaab,” President Guudlaawe declared.
He further emphasized the significance of eliminating key militant leaders, highlighting the killing of senior Al-Shabaab figure Yusuf Dhagnaas as a major victory in the ongoing campaign to eradicate the group.
