Galkayo residents show support to joint forces fighting Al-Shabaab in the region

Mogadishu(SONNA)-Residents in Galkayo town in Mudug region on Wednesday made large rally in which they were expressing support to the Somali National Army and Galmudug State’s Paramilitary forces against Al-Shabaab militants in southern parts of the region, SONNa reported.

The residents also made dua for the heroes martyred during the fight with terrorists, in particular, in the latest military operations in areas like Amara, Qaycad iyo Ba’adweyn locations.

Somali National Army backing the Galmudug State forces on Tuesday over 60 Al-Shabaab militants after the militants’ attempt to overrun the joint forces’ base in Amara town in Mudug region.

The Somali forces lost about 5 soldiers and some others injured in the area during face to face fighting with terrorists after foiled car bomb attacks according to Information Minister of Galmudug State, Ahmed Shire Falagle.
