Mogadishu(SONNA)–Election of five from the 11 seats of the Upper House seats from Somaliland was held and concluded at Afisiyone camp here in Mogadishu following the election of six seats there yesterday, SONNA reported.
Mohamed Hassan Irro, Chairman of the Federal Electoral Implementation Team commended the election which started Wednesday.
“We are pleased to have kicked off Senate elections in the last remaining FMS today. A culmination of a long process of agreements and reconciliations. We aim to finalise SL Senate elections tomorrow & ask the remaining FMS leaders to conclude the remainder of the senate process”, Irro said in twitter post.
