Mogadishu, SONNA – China has reiterated its support and solidarity for Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, amid the illegal memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed by Ethiopia and the leaders of Somalia’s Northern regions.
China, a major partner and investor in Somalia, has reaffirmed its position on the matter, in line with the FGS’s stance. “China stands for upholding the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and supports countries in safeguarding sovereignty and territorial integrity,” China’s Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning stated in her regular press conference on Thursday. She further added that Somaliland is part of Somalia and China supports the FGS in this regard.
