Marka, Lower Shabelle, SONNA – A passenger bus traveling between the Marka and Qoryooley districts of Somalia was struck by an explosion on Wednesday, killing at least six people and injuring 12 others. The explosion was caused by a terrorist attack, according to Mohamed Ibrahim, the Governor of Lower Shabelle region.

In a phone call with Ismail Omar Mukhtar (Orange), the director of Somali National News Agency, the governor stated that the victims were businesspeople targeted by the terrorists. Among those injured were children.

The bus was traveling from Marka to Qoryooley when it was hit by the explosion. The wounded were taken to Shalaanbot for treatment.

This tragic incident highlights the ongoing threat of terrorism in the region and the need for continued vigilance and security measures to protect innocent civilians. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
