Speaker of the Parliament Receives Newly Appointed Turkish Ambassador

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, received the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Somalia, H.E. Ferhat Alkan, at his office in Mogadishu on Tuesday.

The meeting focused on strengthening the longstanding relations, friendship and strategic cooperation between Somalia and Türkiye, built on mutual respect, trust and shared interests.

Speaker Abdulkadir expressed appreciation to the Government and people of Türkiye for their continued support to Somalia, particularly the development projects implemented across the country and ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation.

Following the meeting, the Speaker and Ambassador Alkan, accompanied by the Secretary-General of the House of the People, toured the House of the People headquarters and the chamber where parliamentary plenary sessions are held.
