Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, hosted a dinner in Mogadishu for MPs from both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia whose constituencies are in the Southwest regional state.
The meeting, which was an exchange of views and was attended by the leader of the Southwest regional state, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur, the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of the People, H.E. Abdullahi Omar Abshirow, and the Second Deputy Prime Minister of the country, H.E. Jibril Abdirashid Haji Abdi, discussed the security and political situation in the Southwest regional state of Somalia.
Speaking at the meeting, the Speaker first thanked the MPs of both Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia for attending, stating that Somali tradition considers it unacceptable for a politician to seek help from the Al-Shabaab militants, an issue that could have serious consequences if not prevented.
Speaker Abdulkadir stated that the Federal Government of Somalia is failing to answer why a member of the terrorist militants, whom the Somali government has placed on its blacklist, is still in Kenya in known locations, without action being taken.
