Speaker of the Parliament, Acting President Closes General Da’uud Basketball Final

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia and Acting President of the Federal Republic, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur (Jaamac), attended the final match of the General Da’uud Basketball Tournament at Wiish Stadium, where Heegan and Dekadaha faced each other.

Following an exciting and competitive match attended by officials and members of the public from districts across Banadir Region, Dekadaha emerged victorious to win the tournament.

H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur commended both teams for their performance and efforts, congratulating Dekadaha on their victory and praising Heegan for finishing second. He also highlighted the importance of sports in society, particularly in promoting social integration, peace, unity and youth awareness.

The Speaker and Acting President presented the tournament trophy to Dekadaha and medals to players from both Dekadaha and Heegan.

The event was also attended by ministers, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, members of Parliament, the Manager of Mogadishu Port, officials, members of the sporting community and spectators from districts across Banadir Region.
