Speaker Urges Parliamentary Committee to Prioritise Women, Family and Children Rights Legislation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur held a meeting with the House Committee on Human Rights, Women and Humanitarian Affairs on Sunday.
The meeting focused on accelerating the committee’s work and completing pending draft legislation for submission to the House of the People.
Speaker Abdulkadir instructed the committee to give particular priority to legislation concerning the rights of women, families and children.
He reaffirmed the House of the People’s commitment to strengthening its legislative and oversight roles, particularly in protecting the rights and dignity of Somali citizens and promoting equal access to justice.
