Southwest State Leader visits SoDMA, discusses disaster prevention and management

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The leader of Southwest State of Somalia, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, paid a working visit to the headquarters of the National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) in Mogadishu, where he was received by SoDMA Chairman Mahmoud Maallin Abdulle.

During the visit, the leader held a meeting with the agency’s management and staff and received a briefing on its responsibilities, particularly disaster prevention and management, emergency response and support provided to Somali communities during disasters.

Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe commended SoDMA’s efforts and the important work it carries out for the Somali people, stressing the importance of strengthening cooperation among government institutions and agencies involved in emergency response and disaster management.

The leader also emphasized the need to further strengthen preparedness and the capacity to respond to humanitarian situations and natural disasters, ensuring that affected Somali communities receive rapid and effective assistance.

The leader was accompanied during the visit by the Minister of Planning and the Minister of Livestock of Southwest State of Somalia.
