Southwest State Leader, SoDMA Commissioner Discuss El Niño Preparedness

BAIDOA, (SONNA) — The Leader of Southwest State, H.E. Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, received SoDMA Commissioner H.E. Mahamuud Moallim Abdulle and the Southwest State Ministerial Committee on El Niño Preparedness and Response at his office in Baidoa.

The meeting focused on strengthening preparedness and response to potential heavy rains and flooding, including measures to reduce risks and protect lives and property.

The discussions also emphasised stronger coordination and ensuring that early warnings and public awareness reach communities in remote areas.

H.E. Sheikh Adan Madobe and H.E. Mahamuud Moallim stressed the importance of early action and stronger preparedness to reduce the potential impacts of El Niño.
