Somalia to Host 2026 Strategic Communication Forum in Mogadishu

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdulfataah Qaasim Mohamud, has announced that the 2026 National Strategic Communication Forum will be held in Mogadishu from September 7 to 8.

The forum, themed “Shaping Somalia’s Media Future in the Digital Era,” will bring together key stakeholders to discuss the development and modernization of Somalia’s media sector.

Discussions will focus on strengthening cooperation and communication between government institutions and the media, expanding the use of technology and digital platforms, and developing effective media strategies that respond to emerging trends and future needs.

The forum is expected to provide a platform for media professionals, government institutions and other stakeholders to exchange ideas and explore ways to strengthen Somalia’s media landscape in the digital age.
