Somalia and Algeria economic councils sign memorandum of understanding in Algiers
The agreement, signed during a working visit by National Economic Council Chairman Dr. Hassan Adan Hosow, covers the exchange of research, knowledge and expertise in economic development, and cooperation on economic and investment opportunities.

Algiers (SONNA) - Somalia’s National Economic Council and Algeria’s National Economic, Social and Environmental Council have signed a memorandum of understanding to strengthen cooperation between the two institutions and the exchange of knowledge and expertise in economic development.
The agreement was signed in Algiers during a meeting between the Chairman of the National Economic Council and Economic Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Adan Hosow, and the head of the Algerian council. Dr. Hosow is in Algeria on a working visit.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between the two sides, particularly in economic development. Under the memorandum, the two councils will cooperate in the exchange of knowledge, experience and research, and work together on economic and investment opportunities between Somalia and Algeria.
Somalia’s Ambassador to Algeria, Yusuf Ahmed Hassan (Yusuf Jeego), attended the meeting. On his arrival in Algiers, Dr. Hosow was received by the Ambassador and by his Algerian counterpart, Prof. Mohamed Boukhari, before the two delegations held talks.
According to the National Economic Council, the agreement forms part of the growing cooperation between the two countries, and the Chairman’s visit is part of wider efforts to strengthen relations and cooperation between Somalia and Algeria.
