Somalia, U.S. Discuss Strengthening Security and Military Cooperation

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Commander of the Somali National Army, Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Mohamed Mohamud, received the Commander of U.S. Special Operations Command Africa, Maj. Gen. Claude K. Tudor Jr., for talks on strengthening security and operational cooperation.

The meeting focused on U.S. support for the development and enhancement of the Somali National Army’s capabilities, including efforts to improve military capacity and operational readiness.

The two sides also discussed troop training and the development of a capable and well-prepared national army.

The meeting underscored the importance of further strengthening strategic cooperation between Somalia and the United States in security and military capacity development.
