Somalia Stands in Solidarity with Algeria After Tragic Bus Accident

Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Federal Republic of Somalia extends its deepest condolences to the Government and people of Algeria following the tragic bus accident near Boumerdes on Friday that has claimed at least 25 lives and left dozens injured.

We share in the profound grief of the bereaved families and affected communities and stand in solidarity with Algeria during this time of sorrow. Our thoughts are with those receiving treatment in hospitals, and we wish them a swift and full recovery.

Somalia reaffirms its commitment to stand with Algeria in times of difficulty.

Rights commission raises plight of Somalis in Libya at Benghazi conference

A delegation from Somalia’s National Independent Human Rights Commission set out the toll of irregular migration on young Somalis and their families, and the Libyan bodies hosting the conference undertook to work with the Commission on assisting those in difficulty in the country.

The Chairman of the National Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission opened polling in Dhusamareb at seven this morning, in the second one person one vote election held in a Somali federal member state. Among those queuing are residents of districts liberated from Al-Shabaab within the past two years.
