Somalia, Qatar Discuss Investment and Economic Cooperation

Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Director-General of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Abdifatah Abdullahi Farah (Hared), received a Qatari Development and Investment delegation at the Ministry’s headquarters, led by Talal bin Rashid Al-Hajri.
The meeting explored opportunities to deepen economic cooperation and investment between Somalia and Qatar, with discussions covering livestock, agriculture, fisheries, food production, healthcare, and development finance.
The Director-General was joined by the Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, Kamal Gutale, as well as the Director-Generals of the Ministries of Fisheries and Blue Economy and Health, Abdi Dirshe and Yusuf Wadani.
The discussions focused on identifying opportunities for expanded cooperation and investment across key sectors of Somalia’s economy and development priorities.
