Somalia Participates in the 52nd Arab Conference on Labour Affairs in Cairo

Cairo, (SONNA) — The 52nd Arab Conference on Labour Affairs officially opened in Cairo, Egypt, with the participation of a Somali delegation led by the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Prof. Salim Aliyo Ibro.

The conference brings together Arab countries, represented by governments, employers and workers’ organizations, to discuss key issues related to employment, job creation, skills development, social protection and workers’ rights.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials and delegations from Arab countries, with discussions focusing on the importance of Arab cooperation and the development of labour and social affairs policies and systems.

Somalia’s Ambassador to Egypt, H.E. Ali Abdi Aware, also attended the opening ceremony alongside the Somali delegation.

Somalia’s participation underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Arab countries, particularly in labour, employment, skills development, social protection and workers’ rights.

The Federal Government remains committed to strengthening international cooperation and advancing labour and social affairs while continuing to participate in regional and international forums.
