Somalia Lowers National Flag in Mourning for Late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Father of Qatari Amir

Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Federal Government of Somalia has ordered all state institutions to fly the national flag at half-staff in mourning following the death of the late Qatari Amir, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The directive was issued in accordance with an order from President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, describing the gesture as an expression of solidarity and brotherhood with the people and leadership of the State of Qatar during their time of grief.
The government said lowering the national flag reflects Somalia's condolences and its close ties with Qatar, reaffirming the longstanding relationship between the two countries.
