Somalia Launches IMCTC Projects to Strengthen Counter-Terrorism and Peacebuilding Efforts

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The official launch of projects being implemented in Somalia by the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has begun in Mogadishu.

A key initiative is the Peace Journalists Programme, which aims to strengthen the role of media and journalists in preventing violent extremism and terrorism, promoting peace and raising public awareness.

The launch event is attended by Federal Government ministers, including H.E. Minister of Defence Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, H.E. Minister of Justice Hassan Macallin Mohamud, and H.E. Minister of Internal Security Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail (Fartaag), alongside senior military commanders, ambassadors, IMCTC representatives and international partners.
