Somalia Investment Authority, Banks Hold Strategic Investment Dialogue

Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Somalia Investment Authority and the Somali Bankers Association held a Strategic Investment Dialogue Forum in Mogadishu, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the investment authority and Somali banks and expanding investment opportunities and projects in the country.
The forum discussed Somalia’s investment opportunities, financing needs, investment-ready projects and the role of Somali banks in supporting investment and economic growth.
Discussions also focused on the priorities of the National Transformation Plan (NTP) and efforts to promote private sector-led economic growth.
Speaking at the forum, Director General of the Somalia Investment Authority, Faysal Adan Hassan, highlighted the importance of connecting investment opportunities with the financing capacity of financial institutions.
The Chairman of the Somali Bankers Association, Dr. Ahmed Khadar Abdi Jama, also highlighted the role of Somali banks in supporting investment and business growth, stressing the importance of an effective cooperation framework to facilitate financing for projects and investment opportunities.
The forum forms part of efforts to strengthen government-private sector cooperation, particularly between investment institutions, banks and Somali businesses.
