Somalia, IOM Hold Quarterly Coordination Meeting on Stabilization and Peacebuilding

Mogadishu (SONNA) — The Director General of Somalia’s Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Abdulkadir Ali, chaired the quarterly coordination meeting between the Ministry and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), led by IOM Somalia Chief of Mission Manuel Marques Pereira.
The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation, progress achieved through completed activities, joint planning frameworks, the review of the National Stabilization Strategy, and aligning security, stabilization, peacebuilding and durable solutions with priorities for the coming quarter.
Participants emphasized the need to move beyond coordination toward concrete actions and measurable results, ensuring that the priorities of the Federal Government of Somalia remain central to stabilization planning and implementation.
The meeting also agreed to strengthen inter-agency coordination, information and knowledge sharing, and translate agreed plans into practical initiatives that contribute to stability, peace, and sustainable development across Somalia.
