Somalia, EALA Discuss Strengthening Parliamentary Cooperation

ARUSHA, (SONNA) — The Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur (Jaamac), held talks with Speaker of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), Joseph Ntakirutimana, in Arusha, Tanzania.
The meeting focused on strengthening parliamentary cooperation and advancing East African integration.
The two Speakers underscored the importance of parliamentary collaboration in supporting peace, stability and sustainable development in the East African Community, while noting that closer cooperation could create opportunities for the Somali people in trade, economic development, mobility and regional cooperation.
Speaker Abdulkadir was accompanied by MP Ismail Ciid Mohamed, Secretary-General of the House of the People Abdirahman Mohamed Abdulle (Jaabiri), and Somalia’s Ambassador to Tanzania and the EAC, Ambassador Ilyees Ali Hassan.
